The Analytic Hour

Political essays by Yunus Poblome

The Analytic Hour hosts my writings as a student of politics. The platform shares the name of Sigmund Freud’s therapeutic sessions of psychoanalysis.

  • EPRS Policy Talks: What is the EU doing to help Ukraine financially?

This was a short talk on the EU’s role in financially assisting Ukraine considering the ongoing Russian invasion. It was presented by Sebastian Clapp and Tim Peters, policy experts in the EPRS. An executive summary written by Tim Peters1 states three important aspects of EU policy on the issue. The first being that Ukraine’s recovery…

Yunus Poblome

About me

I hold a BSc (cum laude) in Political Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Currently, I am completing a MSc in Political Science (VUB) and a MSc in International Politics from Ghent University (UGent). Beside my studies, I serve on the Editorial Board of the European Relations Association where I help students and young professionals towards their first publication(s) on European affairs. Previously, I have interned with prof. Eline Severs in the REDIRECT EU Horizon project and held board positions in the Royal Association Olivaint Conference of Belgium and the Belgian parliamentary simulation Jeugd Parlement Jeunesse. While I have written most rigourously about the populist radical right and the Palestinian question, I am currently interested in studying the politics of outer space from a critical security studies perspective.
